About Me / Contacts

Hello, Hi! My name is Ty!

I'm a British freelance artist currently stuck daydreaming of my own little worlds with their own little people.

Although I specialise in animation, character design and illustration, I live and breathe all varied mediums of art and expression. Whether it's made of clay, paints, or skin and bone, I find enjoyment in even the smallest specks of creative expression.

When did you start drawing?

I always loved drawing fanart as a kid, but I didn't start drawing "seriously" until I reached 13 years old. I remember distinctly how I got that first spark; I had an idea of mashing three characters I loved into one character, that's how I created my first staple character: Beck!

Afterwards, I began researching creators of my favourite games and cartoons, then I learned about their inspirations, upbringing and perspectives, and it all snowballed into a cycle of appreciating media beyond just what's being shown. Things like a creator taking inspiration from their personal life and characters being drawn with specific shapes in a specific way got me excited to learn more and apply those nuggets of knowledge to my own work.

Got any tips for drawing?

Remember to move your whole arm as you draw instead of dedicating all of your brush/pencil motions to your wrist. This advice helped me so much and my arm has felt more relieved ever since.

This goes without saying, but please always experiment with as many mediums and materials as you can! you won't always like it, but you might end up finding a love for a medium you wouldn't have learned to love if it wasn't for the experimentation!
